Some of the external brickwork was pattern-heaven. These bricks formed part of the front wall of a terrace house beside the George Washington University Inn which was "home" for the past few days. I spent most of yesterday walking around the blocks near the hotel and managed to rub some grates and other interesting pieces. Shared a park with some homeless people - and felt confronted by my wealth and privilege as I made "art" on hand dyed cloth while they slept under blankets on benches or the grass. Textiles ....
